My second hand/ part time pooch

Roxy, my part time foster dog, is the epitome of a Compacter. She's been at the dog daycare where I work for at least 3 months. She's an aged pug, waiting for a forever home and she doesn't care if all her toys, bedding, collars, leashes are used, as long as her food is fresh and plentiful.
She does require medication, but that's Compact friendly, too. She's happy to sleep on the used couch and prefers used rawhide (already softened by another dog, she's got little bitty teeth). Roxy prefers love and friendship over new things. I'm surprised that I don't want to run out and buy her a new collar, but seeing how content she is, I know that I don't need to do that.

Hi, i was looking over your blog and didn't
quite find what I was looking for. I'm looking for
different ways to earn money... I did find this though...
a place where you can make some nice extra cash secret shopping. Just go to the site below
and put in your zip to see what's available in your area.
I made over $900 last month having fun!

This isn't particularly about the dog, but congratulations. I wanted to write about your project altogether. It's awesome. I've been trying to do something very similar, b ut rather than not buying anything new, my project is to not create any waste. I've been kind of low key with it for awhile but I'm starting up again soon. I'm going to link to you from my blog and it would be awesome if you could check out my project and tell me what you think. http://people.tribe.net/sarah-cynthia-silvia-stout
Keep up the good work!

It's so true that when it comes to love, dogs, cats and even babies don't care if everything they have is brand new...after shelter, food and water, they want and need our love the most.

Keep up the great work!

My father read about the compact in our (St. Paul, MN) newspaper, and ever since, we've been adhering quite closely to the compact. I think it's a wonderful project. My dad even took the extra time to repair his own Birkenstock soles, and things like that. we've always been local produce people (including some from our own backyard). I just think the compact is great.

Hello,

I’m a journalist writing for an English broadsheet called The Independent (www.independent.co.uk)

I’m fascinated by your group and my editor has just commissioned a major feature on the compact to run next Thursday.

Would it be possible for a few of you to answer some questions by email, Ideally before Monday?

I’m also very interested in the feedback you’ve had and am trying to trace anyone in the UK who’s joined your commitment not to buy new in 2006. Do you know of anybody over here, and if so would you be able to put me in touch?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Best,

Helen

You're right about the dog. I have a pug who has played with and slept with the same tattered toy since he was a puppy. He's not interested in new ones.
